Maplr Consulting Inc, also doing business as MIA Innovation (" MIA" or " we " or " us " or " our ") provides this privacy policy (" Privacy Policy ") to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, retention and disclosure of personal data and information that we receive from users who make use of the MIA website: https://www.mia-innovation.com/ (the " Site "), its products and services, including any MIA application or software, related to MIA Innovation, to the exclusion of other Maplr Consultation Inc. services, (the products and services hereinafter collectively referred to as the " Products and Services "). This Privacy Policy applies to any person using the Site or the Products and Services (a " User " or " Users " or " you ").
Wereserve the right at any time, in our sole discretion and without liability, to update or modify the Privacy Policy without notice, and your continued access or use of our Site or Products and Services will mean that you accept the updated or modified Privacy Policy. If we change it, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of the Privacy Policy. If the revised Privacy Policy is not acceptable to you, please do not use the Site or the Products and Services. Collection of personal information
In this Privacy Policy, the term "Personal Information" refers to any information that relates to a natural person and allows, directly or indirectly, that person to be identified. We collect the information you provide to us, for example, when you :
- receive our products and services;

- submit a comment or question via our Site or our Products and Services by any means of communication or on our social network accounts;
- fill in a form on our Site or on our Products and Services ;
- consent to receive marketing communications by any means of communication;
- respond to a survey, poll or enter a contest on our Site, through our Products and Services or our social network accounts;
- wish to obtain Products and Services on demand;

On each of these occasions, you may provide, but are not limited to, the following Personal Information:

- contact information such as your e-mail address, address and telephone number;
- financial or banking information such as your transit number, cheque specimen, or any other banking or financial information;
- your social insurance number;
- any information about your professional or personal situation, including a biography;
- any information relating to your use of our Site, including browser cookies, your IP address, your preferences and your interests;
- any Personal Information relating to recruitment, including your curriculum vitae;
- any document enabling us to verify your identity; and
- any other Personal Information you choose to provide about yourself or a third party, including any Personal Information provided in connection with the provision of our Products and Services.
When you transmit Personal Information to us from a third party, you represent and warrant that you have obtained that third party's consent to the transmission of their Personal Information to MIA and that you have informed them of such transmission.
When you consent to third parties, we may obtain Personal Information about you through them, for example when you register with such a party to participate in one of that party's services, which are offered via that party's website or mobile application or through our Products and Services. We may automatically import some of the Personal Information you provide to such third party into your account to use our Products and Services when you consent to this.
End of collection
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we collect Personal Information from you including:
- To provide, maintain, perform and improve our Site or Products and Services, or to receive any payment in connection with our Products and Services;
- For research and development and statistical purposes, in particular to improve the user experience and understand your needs;
- To perform internal operations, including, for example, to prevent fraud and abuse of our Site or Products and Services, to troubleshoot software and operational problems, to perform data analysis, testing and research, and to monitor and analyze usage and activity trends or in connection with any MIA human resources needs;
- In the event of a reorganization of MIA, including any transaction involving MIA, which would require, among other things, the transfer of Personal Information to a third party as part of any due diligence;
- To comply with any obligation imposed by law, regulation or any other rule;
- For recruitment purposes;
- To send you our newsletter or any other communication that may be of interest to you, including information on Products and Services, promotions, and news;
We expressly acknowledge that we will not use your Personal Information for any other purpose without your consent. Furthermore, we will only collect Personal Information to the extent necessary for the purposes described above.
In addition, Personal Information may be used and disclosed as MIA may deem necessary to enforce the terms of any agreement between you and MIA, or to protect the rights, property or safety of any person or entity, or as required by law, in particular, in response to a request from the appropriate government authorities.
Sharing information
We do not sell, rent or disclose the information we collect and store to third parties. You can expect us to share the information we collect with other parties in the following ways:
- Service Providers, Employees, Agents and Self-Contractors : We have arrangements with various service providers to facilitate and enable the full provision of our Products and Services, under which we may share the Personal Information we have collected. In addition, MIA employs other companies and/or individuals to perform functions on its behalf. For example, we may appoint third parties to develop software applications and/or database functions or to send communications on our behalf.
Your Personal Information may be disclosed to these individuals in the course of MIA's business operations. All service providers, employees, agents, affiliates of MIA and self-contractors working for MIA who have access to your Personal Information are required to protect such information in a manner that is consistent with any applicable law. Your Personal Information will be shared with them only to the extent that such sharing is necessary for the performance of their functions or services.
- Statistical Analysis: We may share Personal Information and non-personal information that has been aggregated anonymously with third parties, including, but not limited to, for statistical, machine learning, advertising or marketing purposes.
- Transactions: Transactions occur in connection with or during the negotiation of a merger, the sale of corporate assets, any financing or acquisition, or in any other situation in which Personal Information may be disclosed or transferred as one of our corporate assets. However, under no circumstances will these transactions allow your Personal Information to be used for purposes other than those for which you have given us your consent.
Otherswith whom we share for legal reasons: We may share your Personal Information with third parties if required or permitted to do so by any applicable law, or if we have reasonable grounds to believe that doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law.
Promotional communications
If you provide us with your postal address and/or e-mail address when explicitly informed of our mailing lists, you may receive periodic communications.
At any time, you can use the unsubscribe option at the bottom of each e-mail or by contacting data@mia-innovation.com. If you continue to receive e-mails despite unsubscribing, please contact us.
If you change your e-mail address during the year, please contact us to ensure you continue to receive our communications.
If you unsubscribe, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those regarding Products and Services you have requested or regarding our ongoing business relationship.

Shelf life
We will retain Personal Information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations. Once this period has expired, we may anonymize your Personal Information to the extent permitted by any applicable law.
Storage location
In particular, your Personal Information is stored via a cloud service on the servers of one of our service providers, and your Personal Information may be stored outside Quebec, whether elsewhere in Canada or abroad.
Security
As you would expect, MIA takes the security of Personal Information seriously and security measures have been put in place with respect to the Products and Services or the Site to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of Personal Information under our control. In particular, MIA implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security for the processing and data collected that is appropriate to the risks presented by the processing and the nature of the Personal Information to be protected. MIA takes into account the state of the art, the costs of implementation and the nature, scope, context and purposes of the processing, as well as the risks to Users' rights and freedoms. MIA always uses encryption technologies that are recognized as industry standards within the IT sector when transferring or receiving Personal Information on the Site. MIA has implemented appropriate security measures to protect and prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of Personal Information received on the Site.
Please note, however, that no security measure for Personal Information can be guaranteed to be totally effective. Consequently, we cannot certify or guarantee the security of Personal Information or other information. You transmit Personal Information to us at your own risk.
User rights
- Right of access and rectification
In accordance with applicable privacy legislation, you have the right to ask us whether we hold any personal information about you and to obtain a copy of such information, where applicable and subject to any exceptions.
You also have the right to rectify any Personal Information that is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal, or if its collection, communication or retention is not in compliance with or authorized under the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, RLRQ, c. P-39,1.
- Withdrawal of consent
Subject to any applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the collection of your Personal Information.
- Right of deletion
In certain circumstances, including if the collection of Personal Information is not authorized by any applicable law, if such information is out of date or not justified by the purpose of the collection, you have the right to have such Personal Information deleted from our records. We undertake to grant a right of access and rectification to persons concerned and wishing to consult, modify or delete information concerning them.
- Right to be forgotten
You may ask us to cease disseminating Personal Information about you, or to de-index any hyperlink attached to your name that provides access to such information by technological means, if such dissemination contravenes the law or a court order. You may do the same, or request that the hyperlink providing access to this information be re-indexed, if the dissemination of this Personal Information causes you prejudice by harming your reputation or privacy.
- Right to portability
You have the right to ask us to communicate to you in a structured and commonly used technological format, in a written and intelligible form, any computerized Personal Information that we have collected from you. This communication may also, at your request, be made to a person or organization authorized to collect your Personal Information.
- Right to information on processing
You also have the right to ask us for information about our processing of your Personal Information, including the type of Personal Information we hold and how we process it.
- Right to unsubscribe from our mailing list
You have the right to ask us, at any time, to unsubscribe you from our mailing list if you have subscribed to it.
Cookie use and management
Websites use cookies to make browsing more useful and reliable. Some of these cookies are essential to the operation of the websites, while others enhance the user experience. - Cookie definition

Cookies may also be installed by third parties with whom Maplr collaborates. Cookies retain a certain amount of information, such as visitors' language preferences or the contents of their shopping baskets. Other cookies collect statistics on website users, or ensure that graphics appear correctly and applications work properly on websites. Still others enable a website's content and/or advertising to be tailored to the user.
- Use of cookies on the Site
It uses different types of cookies:
- Essential or technical cookies: these are cookies that are essential for the operation of the website, enabling good communication and intended to facilitate navigation;
- statistical or analytical cookies: these cookies enable us to recognize and count the number of visitors to our website, and to monitor their browsing behavior. This makes it easier for users to find what they are looking for;
- Functional cookies: these are used to activate specific functionalities on websites in order to improve user-friendliness and experience, notably by remembering the user's choice of preferences (e.g. language);
- Performance cookies: these collect information about how visitors use websites. They make it possible to evaluate and improve website content and performance (e.g. by counting the number of visitors, identifying the most popular pages or clicks), and to better match commercial proposals to the user's personal preferences;
- Advertising or commercial cookies: these are files designed to collect data relating to the profile of visitors and likely to be installed or read by third parties with whom Maplr collaborates in order to measure the effectiveness of an advertisement or a web page and better adapt it to the User's areas of interest;
- Tracking cookies: the Site uses tracking cookies via Google Analytics, with the aim of helping Maplr to measure the ways in which Users interact with the content of the Site, and which generates visit statistics in a strictly anonymous manner. These statistics make it possible to continually improve the Site and offer Users relevant content. Maplr may use Google Analytics to gain an overview of traffic on the Site, the origin of this traffic and the pages visited. This means that Google acts as a subcontractor. The information collected by Google Analytics is generated as anonymously as possible. For example, it is not possible to identify the individuals who visit the websites. Maplr may also use cookies and tags to collect information about Users' browsing habits on various websites. A beacon is an invisible image file that tracks the User's browsing on one or more websites and/or applications. In addition, other commercial cookies may be installed by advertisers when their ads are displayed. Commercial cookies do not contain any personal data. The information collected using commercial cookies and beacons is used to measure advertising effectiveness and better personalize advertising on our websites and other websites. The retention period for cookies varies according to their type: essential cookies are generally retained until the browser is closed, while functional cookies remain valid for 1 year and performance cookies for 4 years. Maplr authorizes public search engines to visit websites via 'spiders' with the sole aim of making access and content of the website accessible via their search engines, without Maplr granting the right to archive the website. Maplr reserves the right to withdraw this authorization at any time.
- Cookie management
Most browsers are configured to accept cookies automatically, but all allow settings to be customized according to the User's preferences. If the User does not want websites to place cookies on his/her computer/mobile device, he/she can easily manage or delete them by modifying his/her browser settings. The User can also set his browser to notify him when he receives a cookie, enabling him to decide whether or not to accept it. The Site may contain links to other Internet sites. When the User clicks on one of these links, he/she enters another site for which MIA has no responsibility. MIA recommends that the User read the privacy policies of all such sites, as they may differ from MIA's own.
